I tried to upgrade the driver also, but do not helps. I have toshiba satellite L100 laptop. My dvd ram device suddenly shows as cd rom device and do not boots up, however it shows cd rom icon sometimes. When i try to inject the media, it do not reads or displays anything. However, the CD was ruined and even after the fix that CD-R was not recognized by WMP. So if you do use this solution, be sure to test it with an untouched CD-R!
