My questions is, does anyone out there use a Mac to program Yaesu radios and how is it done? Thanks in advance!

It's part of Windows Spotlight, why do you think it's called 'WINDOWS SPOTLIGHT' and not 'earthporn rotation'. It highlights features of Windows and gives infos and tips. You can choose something other than 'Windows Spotlight' as your lockscreen wallpaper. Windows Spotlight Images - Why No Description Where the Image was Taken? Description of What it Is? The Windows Spotlight images are great - but why doesn't Microsoft label the images with a description - what the image is and the location where the image was taken? I have been reading about the cable and software for it and I am under the impression that the official Yaesu cable does not work with CHIRP. My questions is, does anyone out there use a Mac to program Yaesu radios and how is it done? Thanks in advance! Best web page software for mac.

I’ll give it a try with some other radios I have and report back, but as far as I am concerned, if it doesn’t take a lot of screwing around with operating system parameters, com ports, etc it may be worth serious consideration. I used CHIRP for my Baofeng UV-5R, and RT Systems for my ICOM 2820H. Chirp took a little bit of work to setup the way I wanted it and I had to buy the cable. RT Systems was a breeze and came with a cable. The D-Star radio is a little more complicated so I really appreciated the ease at which I could do my programming.

If there was a label it automatically displayed it instead of the frequency. Has anyone been able to run the RT Systems software in Linux under Wine?

Feb 24, 2014  Just wanted to do a video showing how to use some software to program the Yaesu FT7900. I prefer to use the memory banks as 'scanning banks' and forget hyper memories etc.

AS far as doing it manually, we do that as an exercise for our hand-helds during the OR-ACES training, but we have the manuals and Nifty Guides to go. Better to have it pre-loaded.

Just wanted to do a video showing how to use some software to program the Yaesu FT7900. I prefer to use the memory banks as 'scanning banks' and forget hyper memories etc. Just in practice I find personally it works a lot easier. Soory the video is a bit dark and un-focused in a lot of parts, need to get the camera setting right (and I have a lens on, really not suited for filming). I should have done a screen/video capture for the software part, but I did not have the time to put it all together, as I still wanted to show using the radio its self. I also have the software for a Wouxun handheld radio, which I may make a video for as well, as I have programmed a few peoples radios for them with it now. As always, I apologias for any inaccuracies etc.I was rushing a bit, and you never seem to notice the mistakes until you upload the video.

That is what we all like to do. I would pay good money for a program that does exactly that! Thank you for listening! I am a NOOB, Learning Everyday. Rob Acton, CA. I use both Chirp and RT. If you can tolerate troubleshooting, then Chirp is tolerable.

I am starting to get into buying Yaesu radios and my first purchase will be an FT-7900R. I have been reading about the cable and software for it and I am under the impression that the official Yaesu cable does not work with CHIRP. Just compile a list of everything near the major cities I'm likely to end up in from repeaterbook.com? Any tips for using the different types of memory on this thing (standard, pms, home, hyper, weather)? Any other things I should know/look into about this radio that might prove useful? Spending the money to buy a radio and not the 15$ for a programming cable seems a bit daft to me.
